Let My People Go!

10Commandments-2b

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.'” Exodus 8:1

Jesus came to set us free.

He came to set us free to fulfill our destiny. But many of us think that fulfilling our destiny means to make a lot of money, or be famous… God may have that in your destiny – I don’t know… But, I do know God wants you to do what you were created to do.

What were you created to do?

You were created to worship God.

Nothing will satisfy your soul as much as those times when you focus on God and are loving Him in worship.

Worship and adoration are something we are designed to do. It is one of the reasons that God tells us in the 10 Commandments found in Exodus 20:2-17 to have “no idols.”

The first four of the ten commandments in Exodus 20:3-7 are really all about worship. Gods first four commandments to us are:

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make idols.

3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

They are all about God and worship!

God knows that He designed us to worship, and so, we will. We will worship something or someone, because it is how He made us. But we are to ONLY worship God. For He alone is worthy of our worship and praise.

What are you worshipping instead of God? Is it money, fame, career, or status? Is it a sport, music, movies, entertainment, politics, or a famous person? Is it your spouse or children? Is it your own independence or opinions? What have you put before God in your life and made your “god”?

God wants you to be free from worshipping the false gods in your life!

What in your life is holding you back from worshipping God? Hear God command, today, to everything that is holding you captive “Let my people go, so that they may worship me!”

God wants you free!

Be free to do today what you were created to do. Take some time to worship God right now!
